Celebrations

Celebrations is a program of year-round interactive festivities belonging to the Jordanian society that allow children to celebrate national occasions and explore their identity, heritage and values. Celebrations  for the year 2011 is sponsored by Bank al Etihad, a strategic Museum partner. 

The six major occasions that Celebrations program marks are Labor Day, Eid Al Fiter, Eid Al Adha, Christmas, Mother’s Day and above all Independence Day. The latter is distinguished by an annual and unique colorful Jordanian Carnival that attracts thousands of visitors.

Nurturing children’s civic competence and a sense of national identity is among the key learning objectives of the Children’s Museum, which seeks to attain this through interactive, enriching and fun experiences. The events under Celebrations program are designed with an element of creativity that surprises and engages visitors and invites them to rediscover the familiar but often underappreciated elements of our heritage, community and culture.
